Bränderna som härjar i Los Angeles kunde ha undvikits. Det menar tillträdande president Donald Trump som nu går till hård attack mot Kaliforniens demokratiske guvernör Gavin Newsom.
I veckan har de mest förödande skogsbränderna i Los Angeles moderna tid har skördat åtminstone fem liv och 130 000 personer har tvingats lämna sina hem.

Donald Trump, som svärs in som USA:s 47:e president om några dagar, har länge varit kritisk mot Gavin Newsoms brist på förebyggande arbete för att undvika det som nu skett.
Redan under sitt första presidentskap 2019 kritiserade Trump hur Newsom hanterade de återkommande bränderna i delstaten. Svaret från guvernören blev att Trump inte tror på så kallade klimatförändringar.

2019 hotade Trump också att skära av federala medel till Kalifornien om reformer inte gjordes av delstatens skogsvård.

This is by far the craziest video from the fire in Los Angeles. This guy is filming huge walls of fire surrounding a house they're in, and there's another person and a dog. I have no idea why they didn't evacuate or what happened to them. Let's hope they're okay. #PalisadesFire
